Please allow an access into your home and ensure someone is home at all times should Katy try to return herself . Leave a light on in your home overnight and keep checking any available cctv , doorbell ring camera footage to see if you can see Katy . Place some unwashed clothing belonging to the person that Katy is most bonded with by the open door that Katy uses , with a small amount of strong smelling food , some water . Most dogs will try to return once settled , if they are able when the area is quiet , however after such a scare , this may take a while . Contact local vets , rescues and the dog warden just in case anyone has maybe found Katy and handed her in - do this even if Katy is microchipped .

Please refer to the “ How it works “ section of our website, which will take you through , step by step , with detailed information and advice to follow when your dog is missing from home . Also refer to the section of our website which provides the emergency numbers to call if there are any nearby hazards . Notify the relevant authorities , who will put alerts out and remain vigilant .
