I'm unable to help at the moment as I have no transport, but it would be worth checking the university grounds off Crab & Winkle Way, where the sports fields and observatories are. I've known dogs turn up there without their owners in the past and it's a popular dog walking spot with lots of rabbits to chase, Also good place to put some posters.
